I am Julie, a private tutor for primary-aged school children with over 25 years of teaching experience including management. I believe in the power of education to not only expand knowledge but also cultivate self-esteem and confidence in every child. Every child is unique, and through careful nurturing, their potential can be unlocked, and most importantly they can flourish. My focus is on building strong foundations, nurturing growth, fostering confidence, and enhancing self-esteem. I have an enhanced DBS check and this is updated yearly.

Who do I tutor?
Primary Tutoring with Mrs H is exactly as you would expect, I tutor children in Years 1 to 6 (ages 6 to 11) in English and maths to help both their ability and confidence. I also tutor students with additional needs and excel in tailoring my tutoring to your child.
How do I teach?
I aim to make all sessions enjoyable with a practical approach as I believe that learning is best when interactive and engaging. That's why I use a variety of teaching methods, including games, simulations, and real-life examples to make learning fun and effective.
Where do I teach?
I tutor face to face as a 1-2-1 and in small group sessions to create the best learning environment for my students. I also offer online 1-2-1 tutoring in my virtual classroom, which is equipped with the latest technology, including a digital whiteboard and screen sharing, to make online learning just as effective as in-person tutoring.
